Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Saturday, April 30: At 4:53 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in the 200 block of North St in Dana. At 6:05 pm a deputy assisted with a calf out on Highway 4 and 210th St north of Jefferson.
Friday, April 29: At 12:18 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1800 block of H Ave in Greenbrier Township. At 6:50 pm the sheriff and deputies assisted Perry PD with a pursuit on Highway 144.
Thursday, April 28: At 5:18 pm a deputy investigated an animal complaint in the 2000 block of D Ave in Willow Township. At 8:53 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 400 block of S. 9th St in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, April 27: At 2 am a deputy assisted Guthrie County with transporting two juveniles back to their residence in Grand Junction. At 4:07 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of child neglect in Grand Junction.

Monday, April 25: At 11:45 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 2200 block of Neola Ave in Franklin Township.
Sunday, April 24: At 11:26 am a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 1000 block of Sand St in Churdan. At 12:21 pm a deputy assisted with a cow out in the 900 block of N Ave in Hardin Township. At 6:21 pm a deputy assisted with a pig running loose on X Ave and 160th St in Paton Township.
Saturday, April 23: At 6:03 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a runaway in the 1600 block of Newberry Ave in Grant Township. At 6:48 pm a deputy assisted a jailer with a unruly inmate.
Friday, April 22: At 10:04 am a deputy and Scranton Fire responded to a tractor fire in the 1900 block of I Ave in Greenbrier Township. The John Deere 7230 tractor was a total loss. At 12:28 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on 190th Street and Highway 144 in Junction Township. At 1:18 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out in the 2300 block of A Ave in Willow Township. At 3:05 pm a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 600 block of 300th St in Willow Township. At 4:17 pm a deputy assisted with trying to locate subject who fled from the hospital in Jefferson. At 7:30 pm a deputy assisted in the jail with an unruly inmate.
Thursday, April 21: At 5:25 pm a deputy assisted with a dog running at large on Highway 30 near Highway 4.
Wednesday, April 20: At 8:59 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an assault.

Monday, April 18: At 12:31 am a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Rebecca St in Grand Junction. A 17-year-old female was arrested for possession of a controlled substance- second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia*. At 10:21 am a deputy placed a stray dog that was found in the 1200 block of T Ave in Hardin Township at the animal control facility. At 5:13 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of identity theft in the 1000 block of 190th St in Bristol Township.
Sunday, April 17: At 4:19 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a sick raccoon in the 600 block of S. 9th St in Grand Junction. At 8:20 pm a deputy arrested Conar Hornsby, 25, of Grand Junction on an arrest warrant for a probation violation*.
Saturday, April 16: At 12:57 am the sheriff and deputies investigated a complaint of an underage party in the 1700 block of Q Ave in Grant Township. Landyn Venteicher 18, Sawyer Schiltz, 19, Kole Teeples, 18, Kaydence Newby, 18, and Daniel Rivera, 18, all of Jefferson were charged with possession of alcohol underage. One juvenile younger than 18 was also charged with possession of alcohol underage. The party is still under investigation. At 1:06 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 1400 block of 265th St in Jackson Township.
Friday, April 15: At 7:42 am the sheriff and a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in Grand Junction. Miranda Schlicht, 23, of Ralston was arrested for a no contact order violation*. Zach Waters fled from the scene and arrest warrants have been requested. At 8:53 pm a deputy, Grand Junction fire and rescue, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident on T Avenue and 270th St in Junction Township. Ned Johnston, 71, of Rippey was southbound on T Ave driving a 2016 Ford F150 pickup truck. Nancy Bishop, 60, of Jefferson was eastbound on 270th St driving a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse. Johnston failed to yield the right of way and struck Bishop’s vehicle. Both drivers were transported by private party for medical treatment. Johnston was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Damage to both vehicles exceeded value. At 11 am the sheriff and deputies investigated a complaint of an underage party in the 2300 block of 210th St in Junction Township.

Wednesday, April 13: At 1:21 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 257th St and Highway 4 south of Jefferson. At 8:42 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 1400 block of Highway 144 at Grand Junction. At 4:21 pm a deputy investigated a scam in the 1000 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 5:49 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 400 block of S. 9th St in Grand Junction. At 8:26 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1400 block of Highway 144.
Tuesday, April 12: At 1:47 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to a train engine fire on I Ave in Jackson Township. At 5:53 pm a deputy, Jefferson fire, and Greene County Ambulance responded to J Avenue and County Road E-53 west of Jefferson for a two-vehicle accident. Caden Etherton, 19, of Jefferson was eastbound on E-53 driving a 2008 Dodge Avalon. A 17-year-old male was southbound on J Ave driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. The southbound driver stopped as posted but failed to yield the right of way and pulled in front of Etherton. Both drivers were transported to Greene County Medical Center with possible injuries. Both vehicles sustained damage exceeding value. The accident is under investigation. At 7:25 pm a deputy investigated a driving complaint on Highway 4 near 190th St north of Jefferson. The driver, Jose Acosta-Gallego, 39, of Nebraska was arrested on a warrant out of Fairfax County, VA, for aggravated sex assault and battery*. At 9:19 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson police department with a combative patron at Wild Rose Casino.
Monday, April 11: At 12:11 am a deputy investigated an attempted burglary in the 500 block of Main St in Grand Junction. At 4:45 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 800 block of Hills Ave in Churdan.
Sunday, April 10: At 7:40 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a unruly patient at Greene County Medical Center.
Saturday, April 9: At 12:45 pm a deputy and Paton fire responded to a grass fire in the 1600 block of 160th St in Paton Township. At 1:35 pm a deputy and Churdan fire responded to a grass fire in the 500 block of I Ave in Highland Township. At 2:06 pm a deputy and Jefferson fire responded to a grass fire on Highway 4 and 310th St in Franklin Township. At 10:09 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 4 and 300th St in Franklin Township. Mary Neiland, 77, Carroll struck a deer with a 2018 Lincoln MKX, totaling the vehicle.
Friday, April 8: At 6:22 am the sheriff and a deputy investigated a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of Madison St in Scranton. At 8:56 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 400 block of State St in Scranton. At 3:58 pm the sheriff and deputies responded to a report of a juvenile pointing a gun at other youngsters on Bell St in Churdan. The juvenile was located and found to have an airsoft pistol. The juvenile was arrested for displaying a dangerous weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon*.
Thursday, April 7: At 1:27 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest.
Wednesday, April 6: At 2:27 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 700 block of Hill St in Churdan. At 4:39 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 800 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, April 5: At 3:38 pm a deputy assisted with a wild turkey causing troubles with traffic on 16th and Main Sts in Grand Junction. At 3:45 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping near Jordan Ave. At 5:07 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Highway 25 near 270th St in Willow Township. At 6:12 pm a deputy and Jefferson fire responded to a ditch fire on Highway 4 near 260th St south of Jefferson.
Monday, April 4: At 12:07 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out in the 800 block of I Ave in Bristol Township. At 5:25 pm a deputy investigated a possible violation of a no contact order in the 200 block of Cartwright St Rippey. At 5:51 pm a deputy and Jefferson fire responded to a grass fire that got out of control in the 1600 block of J Ave in Jackson Township. At 9:50 pm a deputy assisted DHS with a search of a residence in Scranton.
Sunday, April 3: At 6:14 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near Orchard Ave west of Jefferson. Richard Olney, 55, of Boone struck a deer with a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander, causing an estimated $8,000 in damage to the vehicle. At 5:12 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 800 block of Hills Ave in Bristol Township. At 8:23 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 700 block of North St in Churdan.
Saturday, April 2: At 1:28 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on Highway 4 near 270th St south of Jefferson. At 6:16 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of 4-wheelers being driven on the roadway in Scranton. At 7:53 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 200 block of W. Main St in Grand Junction.
Friday, April 1: At 10:37 am a deputy removed debris from 210th St near Highway 4. At 11:33 am the sheriff and deputies assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a search warrant in the 200 block of N. Locust St in Jefferson. At 2:39 pm a deputy and Scranton Fire responded to a brush fire on Highway 30 near B Ave west of Scranton. At 3:28 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief on B Ave and 175th St in Kendrick Township. At 10:06 pm the sheriff and deputies assisted the Calhoun County sheriff’s office responding to a party of underage persons in the 3000 block of 310th St in Calhoun County. At 11:03 pm the sheriff and deputies investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1000 block of 150th St in Highland Township.
